1. Keep focused on your keto nutrition goals
It can be incredibly tough to stay keto during highly stressful situations, with more temptations to stress eat and fall into old un-healthy habits.
But we need to remember that keto has been linked with many health benefits including lowering inflammation which in turn, boosts your immune system to combat viruses and illnesses.
During this time it’s especially important to focus on nutrient dense foods that are high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants like spinach, broccoli, seafood, blueberries, etc.
2. Stay Active!
This can be quite difficult since many gyms have been closed down, but fitness is important to boost your immune system and keep you mentally healthy during isolation and social distancing.
Try the following activities:
- create a mini home workout routine
- try out an online fitness workout (lots of YouTube!),
- join an organized online fitness group
- Simply go outside for a walk!
Focus on a good night sleep! This includes a proper pre-sleep routine (winding down from the day and make sure to put that phone away!), comfortable sleep arrangement, and 7-9 hours of sleep. This will help repair your body & mind and keep your body’s system running effectively.
4. Do Your Part!
Don’t “buy” into the fear! No pun intended…
Stocking up on toilet paper is not part of the solution! Listen to reliable sources and follow all recommended action to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Wash your hands frequently, cough & sneeze into your sleeve, and take care of those who are most vulnerable during this time.
